Pedestrian dead after tragic Queens accident near Van Wyck expressway
Tragic Accident in Queens Leaves One Pedestrian Dead and Another Injured
Tragedy struck in Queens on Saturday when a Mercedes Benz rear-ended another car that was stopped and waiting to turn onto the Van Wyck Expressway, resulting in the death of one pedestrian and the injury of another, as reported by the NYPD.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. when a 51-year-old woman was pinned under a Toyota Scion that was in the process of turning from Liberty Avenue onto the busy highway.

Emergency services rushed both the 51-year-old woman and another 34-year-old female pedestrian to Jamaica Hospital for treatment, according to the NYPD.
Tragically, the 51-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 34-year-old pedestrian is currently in stable condition, as per the NYPD’s update.
Both the 58-year-old female driver of the Toyota Scion and the 65-year-old female driver of the Mercedes Benz involved in the collision stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities, the NYPD confirmed.
