Van Driver Arrested for Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Developmentally Disabled Woman
A van driver for the Nassau County Association for the Help of Retarded Children has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled woman behind a local Home Depot, according to police reports.
Steven Harrison, 62, from Roosevelt, is accused of driving his AHRC van behind a Home Depot in Jericho on multiple occasions between March 2022 and September 12, where he allegedly sexually molested the woman before returning to work, as per Nassau County police.
The woman, who was 24 years old when the assaults began, finally reported the incidents on Thursday, prompting her relatives to contact the authorities, police confirmed.

Following a thorough investigation, Harrison was arrested on September 23 at the AHRC facility located at 189 Wheatley Road in Brookville, the department stated.
Harrison has been charged with third-degree rape, endangering the welfare of an incompetent physically disabled person, and second-degree sexual assault, according to police records.
He was arraigned on the charges and is currently held on $250,000 cash bail or a bond of up to $2 million pending a court appearance in Nassau County on Friday.
Despite the allegations, Harrison pleaded not guilty to the charges.
