Man shot in Ashburn apartment after trying to sexually assault gunman’s wife: allegation

Police are currently investigating a disturbing incident that took place in an Ashburn apartment on Saturday afternoon. Reports suggest that a man was shot inside the apartment after allegedly attempting to sexually assault a woman, prompting her husband to intervene.

The incident unfolded on the 3200 block of West 84th Street around 1:45 p.m., when officers were called to the scene and found an injured man. However, initial information indicates that the situation originated as an attempted sexual assault.

According to a 911 caller, a man had allegedly tried to assault her at the 84th Street address before her husband intervened. During a struggle for the husband’s gun, the man sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.

Following the altercation, the wounded man fled the apartment, jumped over a back fence, and escaped from the scene. Over an hour later, authorities responded to a report of a person shot on the 6500 block of South Bell Avenue, where they discovered a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right arm. A vehicle registered to the injured man was found abandoned behind the 84th Street apartment building.

Law enforcement officers accompanied the injured man to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in good condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events that transpired.
