Scott Hoying Eliminated on Wicked Night

The latest episode of “Dancing With the Stars” was truly wicked, as couples took on hit songs from the popular musical “Wicked” on Oct. 21. Guest judge John M. Chu added to the excitement as the pairs danced their hearts out, with some embodying the role of Elphaba and others taking on Glinda.

The scores from this week were combined with last week’s dedication night, where we saw some impressive performances and a bit of controversy. Carrie Ann Inaba, who received backlash last week for her critiques, redeemed herself by giving the first 10 of the season to Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas for their quickstep. Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sousa also wowed the judges with their rumba, earning three 10s and one nine.

Andy Richter and Emma Slater’s jazz routine received mixed reviews, with Hough giving them a 6 while the other judges were more generous with 7s. Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov impressed the judges with a breakthrough performance, earning four 9s for their Argentine Tango.

However, it was Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten’s emotional contemporary routine to “Defying Gravity” that stole the show. Hendrix, at 54 and injured, delivered a powerful performance that left everyone in tears. The judges awarded them four 9s for their moving routine.

After all the dances and scores were tallied, Andy Richter remained at the bottom of the leaderboard while Whitney Leavitt reclaimed the top spot. In the end, Scott Hoying was sent home after the audience votes were factored in.

Here are the scores from Wicked Night:
– Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold: 28/40
– Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy: 35/40
– Robert Irwin and Witney Carson: 36/40
– Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas: 39/40
– Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach: 32/40
– Andy Richter and Emma Slater: 27/40
– Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten: 36/40
– Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik: 32/40
– Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov: 36/40
– Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa: 39/40
