Jimmy Kimmel Holds Food Drive As Trump Threatens to Stop SNAP Benefits

The Trump Administration’s threat to withhold SNAP benefits from Americans in need has sparked a response from “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The late-night show has initiated a food drive to support the Los Angeles Food Bank and the St. Joseph Center, two organizations dedicated to fighting hunger and helping those in need.

As the government shutdown initiated by the Trump Administration approaches a record-breaking 36 days, there is growing concern over whether the 42 million Americans who rely on food stamp payments will continue to receive assistance. This uncertainty has prompted “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to take action and provide support to those affected by the potential cuts to SNAP benefits.

Taking to Instagram, the show announced the launch of “The Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank,” a donation center located at 6901 Hawthorn Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028. The donation hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the show is encouraging individuals to contribute essential food items to benefit the local community.

The most needed food items include low-sodium soups, canned proteins like tuna and chicken, nut butters, low-sugar cereals, protein bars, whole grain pasta, and rice. Additionally, items such as crackers, trail mix, fruit snacks, juice boxes, dried fruit, milk, wipes, diapers, hygiene products, and feminine products are also requested for donation.

In addition to supporting the food drive, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has a history of using its platform to aid those in need. In January, the show transformed its studio’s parking lot into a donation point to assist Angelenos affected by the wildfires in the area.

By organizing these charitable initiatives, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is demonstrating a commitment to helping vulnerable populations and addressing food insecurity in the community. Through the support of viewers and local residents, the show aims to make a meaningful impact and provide assistance to those facing challenges during these uncertain times.
