Jon Stewart Has 1 Pointed Question For Democrats After ‘Amazing’ Election Night
During the latest episode of “The Weekly Show” podcast, host Jon Stewart praised the recent Democratic election wins as “amazing.” However, he quickly followed up with a pointed question: “How will they squander it?”
Joining Stewart on the podcast were MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes and former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe. Stewart asked his guests, “How will they piss this away?”
Hayes pointed out factors such as “thermostatic public opinion” and the unpopularity of President Trump that contributed to the victories, factors that Democrats have little control over. He also mentioned that candidate recruitment, messaging, and campaigns play a crucial role in either “screwing it up” or “building on it,” and commended the Democrats for their efforts in the recent elections.
Despite this, Stewart expressed his belief that the Democrats are still in disarray, emphasizing the untapped potential energy in the United States that remains unutilized. He challenged the Democrats to channel this energy effectively, stating, “I still don’t believe they’re doing that.”
Plouffe acknowledged the unpredictable nature of politics and forecasted a positive outlook for Democrats in the upcoming 2026 midterms.
