Texas ‘captors’ give sick excuse for chaining, torturing woman

A shocking incident unfolded in Austin, Texas, where a woman was found handcuffed and tortured behind a trailer-style house. The victim, who had been subjected to months of abuse, was discovered by Austin officers in a horrific state. What made this case even more disturbing was the involvement of a whole family in the heinous crime.

The suspects included Mache Carney, her mother Michelle Garcia, sister Crystal Garcia, husband Juan Pablo Castro, brother-in-law Maynard Lefevers, and a family friend. The victim was found chained to an exercise rack, naked from the waist down, and covered in wounds. She had been starved, beaten, and even shot with a BB gun as punishment.

According to reports, Carney justified the act of handcuffing the victim by claiming that some people enjoyed such behavior. The family members alleged that the victim had mental health issues and was chained up to prevent her from stealing. However, a 911 call from a concerned citizen led to the discovery of the victim’s plight.

The victim revealed that she was only given one meal a day, left out in freezing weather, and subjected to brutal punishment if she tried to escape. Medical examination showed that she had hundreds of round BB-sized scars all over her body, indicating prolonged abuse.

The presence of children in the house added another layer of horror to the situation. Carney told her 4-year-old son that the victim was being punished for killing rabbits, further highlighting the twisted mindset of the family. The suspects have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and assault, among other crimes.

One of the suspects, Maynard Lefevers, had a peculiar fascination with creating a bed of nails using thumbtacks. His grandmother, Frankie Lefevers, expressed shock at the accusations, stating that she never expected such behavior from him.

The suspects are currently awaiting indictment, with the next court appearance scheduled for January 8th. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activities to prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future.
