Jimmy Kimmel to Receive President’s Award at ICG Publicists Awards
Jimmy Kimmel to Receive President’s Award from International Cinematographers Guild
Jimmy Kimmel is set to receive the prestigious President’s Award from the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG), IATSE Local 600. The late-night talk show host will be honored at the guild’s awards luncheon on March 13 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The President’s Award is only given out on special occasions to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary strength of character and resilience in the face of adversity. The ICG publicists selected Kimmel for this rare honor, citing his unwavering adherence to principle during challenging times.
John Lindley, ASC, the national president of the ICG, expressed his excitement about presenting the award to Jimmy Kimmel. Lindley commended Kimmel for his dedication to his work and his team, particularly noting his support for his staff and crew during a recent suspension.
Kimmel, known as the host and executive producer of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, faced a temporary suspension earlier this year after making controversial comments in a monologue that drew the attention of the Federal Communications Commission. Despite the setback, Kimmel’s return to the airwaves was met with enthusiasm from his audience.
The ICG President’s Award has been presented to notable figures in the entertainment industry in the past, including Nanci Ryder, a renowned publicist and ALS activist, Cheryl Boone Isaac, a PR executive who later became the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), and Linda Bell Blue, an executive producer recognized for her work on “Entertainment Tonight.”
Jimmy Kimmel joins this esteemed list of recipients, earning recognition for his commitment to his craft and his team. The ICG awards luncheon will celebrate Kimmel’s contributions to the industry and his resilience in the face of challenges.
