New restaurant from Catch Hospitality Group set to bring ‘light and fire’ to SoHo

The latest addition to the Catch Hospitality Group, known for The Corner Store in SoHo and frequented by Taylor Swift, is set to introduce a state-of-the-art custom grill that will offer delectable dishes from the Levant region.

Or’esh, led by Michelin-starred chef Nadav Greenberg, is scheduled to open next month in SoHo, featuring traditional dishes from countries like Israel, Morocco, and Lebanon, including grilled whole lobster, seared salmon sashimi, and charred greens.

Greenberg, renowned for his work at Eyal Shani’s Shmoné in the West Village, will be in charge of the live-fire cooking that will be a key element in most of the menu offerings.

The grill, a unique design conceptualized by Greenberg and not visible to diners, posed a challenge in obtaining city approvals, as remarked by Remm.

“It was a significant challenge and a lengthy process, but the authentic flavor it brings is unparalleled,” Remm shared.

Greenberg emphasized the artistry of live-fire cooking, noting its unpredictability and uniqueness that sets it apart.

Anticipation is high for the grand opening of Or’esh, which translates to light and fire in Hebrew, next month.

“I have never seen anything like it. It’s truly one-of-a-kind. This is like a Ferrari. It doesn’t get better than this,” Greenberg expressed.

Located on Broadway near Prince Street, Or’esh is Catch’s third restaurant in under 17 months, following the success of The Corner Store and The Eighty Six. The ongoing construction reflects the founders’ vision, with emphasis on soundproofing for a comfortable dining experience.

Remm highlighted the importance of sound quality and intimate dining spaces over maximizing covers in a space.

Or’esh will offer 75 seats and a private dining room with a capacity of 15 to 30 guests, featuring a separate entrance.

Noteworthy is the spectacular custom grill that Greenberg described as a game-changer in culinary artistry, promising distinctive flavors in every dish.

Remm hinted at a seven-figure investment in the grill’s construction, emphasizing the unparalleled taste it will bring to even the simplest dishes.

“Whether it’s a basic Branzino or a complex creation, the flavors will be unparalleled, thanks to the unique capabilities of the grill,” Greenberg concluded.
