‘Top Chef’ winner Kelsey Clark charged with DUI after plowing car into mailbox
Former “Top Chef” winner Kelsey Clark made headlines after being arrested for driving under the influence in her hometown of Dothan, Alabama. The 35-year-old cooking star, who clinched the title on Bravo’s reality competition show in 2019, allegedly crashed into a mailbox with her two children in the car. Authorities reported that Clark appeared intoxicated, struggling to pass field sobriety tests and displaying signs of impairment.
According to TMZ, police responded to a call about a vehicle hitting a mailbox on Selkirk Drive. Upon arrival, officers determined that Clark was under the influence of alcohol. The celebrity chef, known for her southern-style cooking, was unable to walk in a straight line or balance on one foot during the sobriety tests.
Clark, who has authored multiple cookbooks including “Southern Grit” and “The Flavor of Fire,” is also the owner of a restaurant in downtown Dothan called KBC. Despite her success in the culinary world, she found herself spending a night in Dothan City Jail following her arrest.
In her mugshot, Clark appeared solemn in a black shirt, her face showing signs of the ordeal. Fortunately, neither she nor her two children, aged 8 and 5, sustained any injuries during the incident.
After winning Season 16 of “Top Chef,” Clark has continued to make a name for herself in the industry. She currently serves as a judge on Netflix’s “Next Gen Chef” and remains a prominent figure in the culinary world. Her restaurant, KBC, continues to attract diners with its southern-inspired cuisine.
Despite this setback, Clark’s talent and passion for cooking are undeniable. As she navigates the repercussions of her arrest, her fans continue to support her and look forward to her future endeavors in the food industry.
