CBS News weighs firing Peter Attia in wake of Jeffrey Epstein emails — Bari Weiss reluctant to ax him: source
CBS News executives are currently considering severing ties with anti-aging influencer Peter Attia following the emergence of emails between him and the late Jeffrey Epstein, sources have disclosed to The Post.
Editor in chief Bari Weiss, known for her criticism of cancel culture, was reportedly hesitant at first. However, CBS News is facing mounting pressure to distance themselves from Attia after numerous questionable emails between him and Epstein came to light.
CBS News has refrained from commenting on the situation. Both Attia and Weiss have been approached for comment by The Post.
The troubling correspondence between Attia and Epstein, including inappropriate jokes and references, was uncovered from the trove of documents released by the Department of Justice in accordance with the “Epstein Files Transparency Act.”
In his emails, Attia frequently inquired about Epstein’s lifestyle and well-being, displaying a concerning level of familiarity with the convicted sex offender.
Attia, a well-known figure in the field of longevity and metabolic health, expressed regret over the content of his emails, acknowledging their tasteless nature and the public scrutiny he now faces.
Attia has issued an apology for his actions, accepting responsibility for the embarrassing and indefensible content of the emails.
