Jill Biden’s ex-husband William Stevenson charged with first-degree murder of new wife

Former first lady Jill Biden’s ex-husband, William Stevenson, has been arrested on charges of murdering his wife, Linda Stevenson, in their Delaware home. The incident took place on December 28, when police responded to a domestic dispute call and found Linda unresponsive on the floor. Despite attempts to revive her, she was declared dead at the scene. The cause of death has not been disclosed yet.

William Stevenson, 77, who owns the college bar The Stone Balloon near the University of Delaware, is being held on $500,000 bail following his arrest on first-degree murder charges. His arrest comes after a thorough investigation into the case.

Jill Biden, who divorced Stevenson in 1975 after a five-year marriage, went on to marry then-Senator Joe Biden. Stevenson has previously accused Jill of having an affair with Joe Biden before their divorce. He claimed that they all worked together on Joe Biden’s first campaign for Senate in 1972, during which he grew suspicious of their relationship.

In 1974, Stevenson began suspecting that Joe and Jill were having an affair, particularly after the tragic death of Joe Biden’s first wife, Neilia, and their infant daughter in a car accident. Joe and Jill have maintained that they first met after being set up on a date in 1975, following Joe’s widowhood and Jill’s separation from Stevenson.

The details of Linda Stevenson’s murder and the ongoing legal proceedings are still unfolding as the case progresses. It is a tragic and complex situation involving multiple relationships and past histories.
