Alleged psycho surgeon Michael McKee fired nearly 2 dozen shots into ex-wife, husband: reports

The tragic story of the psycho surgeon accused of killing his ex-wife and her new husband in Ohio continues to unfold as autopsy reports reveal the brutal details of the crime. Monique and Spencer Tepe were found with a total of 16 gunshot wounds, including multiple shots to their heads, after Michael McKee, a vascular surgeon from Illinois, allegedly broke into their Columbus home and gunned them down while they were sleeping on December 30.

Monique, who was previously married to McKee for two years before filing for divorce in 2017, suffered nine gunshot wounds, including one to her right cheek, multiple shots to her torso, and three to her chest. The coroner’s report stated that the 39-year-old died from gunshot wounds to her head, trunk, and extremities, causing visceral, skeletal, and soft tissue injuries. Spencer, 37, was shot seven times, including once in the head, according to his autopsy report.

Prior to the heinous crime, McKee had a history of abuse towards his ex-wife, with court documents revealing that he had threatened to kill her at any time. Witnesses also reported instances of McKee engaging in unwanted sexual advances, strangling Monique, and making ominous statements about always being her husband. Surveillance footage even captured McKee driving near the couple’s home weeks before the murder, indicating premeditation on his part.

After the killings, McKee was caught on video surveilling the Tepe’s home before returning to carry out the fatal shooting. The couple’s two children were left unharmed during the attack. Police were able to track McKee to a hospital where he worked and arrested him at a nearby Chick-fil-A nearly two weeks after the crime. McKee has since pleaded not guilty to four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary, facing a potential life sentence without parole if convicted.

The chilling details of this double murder case continue to shock the community as McKee remains in custody at Franklin County Jail. The investigation into the motives behind this senseless act of violence is ongoing as authorities work to bring justice for Monique and Spencer Tepe.
