GOP Rep’s ‘Most Disgusting’ Post About Muslims And Dogs Is Condemned Online
Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) caused a stir across the political spectrum with a controversial post on X, stating, “If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one.”
Fine, known for his history of making bigoted and Islamophobic remarks, made this statement in response to Palestinian American activist Nerdeen Kiswani’s online comment about dogs being unclean. Kiswani later clarified that her statement was meant as satire in a local conversation about dog waste after a snowstorm.
Despite Kiswani’s explanation, Fine’s comment sparked immediate outrage.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) condemned Fine’s statement, calling it one of the most disgusting she has ever seen from an American official. She emphasized the need to censure Fine and strip him of his committees, stating that ignoring such behavior only normalizes it.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) also weighed in, demanding Fine’s resignation and referring to him as a racist slob.
The backlash against Fine’s remarks highlights the ongoing need to address and condemn bigotry and discrimination in all forms.
