Transgender shooter’s third relative dies nine days after rampage at Rhode Island hockey game

Tragedy Strikes as Third Relative of Transgender Mass Shooter Dies Following Rhode Island Hockey Rink Shooting

In a devastating turn of events, a third relative of transgender mass shooter Robert Dorgan has passed away, nine days after the horrific shooting at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island. Gerald Dorgan, 75, the shooter’s ex-father-in-law, had been in critical condition since the incident on Feb. 16, which also claimed the lives of his daughter, Rhonda Dorgan, and grandson, Aidan Dorgan. His death was confirmed on Wednesday, leaving the community in mourning.

Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien expressed his sorrow, stating, “We are heartbroken to learn that another life has been lost as a result of last Monday’s senseless shooting at Lynch Arena. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the victim’s family, friends, and all those impacted by this tragic act of violence.”

Robert Dorgan, 56, deliberately targeted his family when he started shooting in the stands at the high school hockey game.

The shooter, Robert Dorgan, intentionally aimed at his own family members during the game before ultimately taking his own life when he was subdued by brave onlookers. His ex-wife’s mother, Linda Dorgan, and family friend Thomas Geruso were also critically injured in the shooting. Robert Dorgan shared the same surname as his former in-law due to his ex-wife being a cousin of the family.

It was revealed that Robert Dorgan had recently undergone gender reassignment, and his transgender identity, along with his unstable mental state, had been the subject of numerous family court disputes leading up to the tragic incident.
