Texas woman allegedly plowed through crime scene, ran over already-dead victim

A shocking incident unfolded in Texas recently when a woman allegedly crashed through a cordoned-off crime scene and ran over the body of a deceased victim with her car. The victim, a 61-year-old man, was first clipped by a car’s side mirror near State Highway 211 and then subsequently hit by a second driver while lying on the roadway on February 27th.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was covered with a sheet as law enforcement closed off the street to traffic. However, the situation took a bizarre turn when 26-year-old Tionne Spears reportedly drove through the barricaded area and ran over the man’s corpse. She also narrowly missed hitting two deputies who were investigating the incident at the scene. Fortunately, no one else was injured during this reckless act.

Authorities suspect that Spears was intoxicated at the time of the incident and found that she was in possession of khat, a stimulant plant indigenous to Africa known to lower pain tolerance. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar stated that the drug has measurable effects on the human body.

While investigations are ongoing, toxicology tests are awaited to confirm whether Spears had the drug in her system or had consumed any other substances before driving through the crime scene. Both drivers who initially hit the victim stayed at the scene, and no criminal activity is suspected in their cases.

Spears was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, abuse of a corpse, and possession of a controlled substance. Sheriff Salazar expressed his disbelief at the unprecedented nature of the incident, stating that in his 33 years of experience, he had never encountered such a brazen act at a crime scene.

The circumstances surrounding why the man was on the roadway when he was struck remain unclear. A black Chrysler 300 registered to him was found near the scene, adding more mystery to the tragic event.
