Ex-con accused of killing 2 people outside Players Championship pictured in back of police cruiser after arrest

The suspect in the tragic shooting incident outside The Players Championship in Florida, Christian Barrios, was captured in a dramatic manhunt that ended in the woods. The ex-con was photographed in the back of a police cruiser, covered in sand and foliage, looking down in shame with his hands cuffed behind his back.

Barrios, 32, allegedly shot and killed two people in a Walgreens parking lot in Ponte Vedra, just a mile away from the PGA Tour site. After the shooting, he fled onto the golf course, leading law enforcement on a chase across the expansive grounds. He then stole a black BMW from a nearby residence and crashed into the woods, where he was eventually apprehended early Saturday morning.

Authorities revealed that the fatal shooting was a domestic incident and that the victims were acquainted with the suspect. The chaos briefly delayed the opening of TPC Sawgrass but the tournament proceeded as scheduled.

Barrios is facing serious charges including two counts of first-degree murder, burglary of an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting into a conveyance, and grand theft auto. He is currently being held without bond.

The intense manhunt and subsequent arrest of Christian Barrios have shocked the community and left a dark cloud over The Players Championship. The tragic events serve as a reminder of the importance of safety and security measures, even in seemingly peaceful settings.
