West Coast house music legend Daniel Wherrett — known as DJ Dan — has passed away. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

The statement praised Dan for his unique blend of house, breakbeat, and techno genres, creating a psychedelic fusion known as the “West Coast House Sound.”
The EDM producer was scheduled to perform at Dead Ringer in Reno, NV on Saturday but failed to show up, as reported by Billboard.
A close source revealed to the magazine that Dan had not been responding to texts for two days before his passing.
Throughout his career, DJ Dan had three songs that charted on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs list, with “That Phone Track” reaching the top spot in 2004.
He was 57 years old.
