The Last Airbender’ Season 2 Sets Release Date

Netflix has recently unveiled a sneak peek behind the scenes of the highly anticipated Season 2 of “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” the live-action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon. Fans can mark their calendars for June 25, when the new season is set to premiere.

Following the successful debut of the series in 2024, Netflix wasted no time in renewing it for two additional seasons. Just like the original show, the live-action adaptation will conclude with Season 3. Production for Seasons 2 and 3 was done consecutively, with Season 2 wrapping up in May 2025 and the final season commencing production shortly after.

The stellar cast includes Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai. Season 2 will also introduce the character of Toph, the blind earthbender portrayed by Maya Cech. The storyline continues to follow Aang, the last airbender who can manipulate all four elements as the Avatar. Having mastered waterbending in Season 1, Aang will now focus on earthbending in Season 2, all while evading the menacing Fire Nation and Prince Zuko.

While fans eagerly anticipate the new season, there have been some changes behind the scenes. Albert Kim, the series developer and Season 1 showrunner, stepped down in April. Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani have been appointed as the new executive producers of the show, alongside Kim who remains as an executive producer. Other executive producers include Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore from Rideback, with Michael Goi and Jabbar Raisani also on board. Goi and Raisani have taken on directing duties for various episodes in the series, ensuring a cohesive and visually stunning production.
