Coachella horror as massive light fixture rains down on fans mid-concert: ‘Blood all over’

Coachella turned chaotic when a heavy lighting fixture fell on the audience, injuring at least one concert-goer. The incident occurred during DJ John Summit’s performance at the Do LaB stage, with witnesses describing the fixture plummeting from above and striking a woman in the head, leaving her bloodied.

Panic spread through the crowd as nearby concert-goers tried to get the attention of medical staff. Three people quickly lifted the injured woman and rushed her out of the crowd for help. Joey Freshour, who witnessed the aftermath, recorded the fallen fixture beneath Do LaB’s signature fabric mushroom structures. Despite efforts to move the object, it was too heavy for one person alone.

A TikTok video showed a security guard informing attendees that the stage was temporarily shut down due to the incident. Weather conditions, including strong winds that day, may have played a role in the accident. Freshour noted that gusts intensified during Summit’s set, causing disruptions across the venue.

Producer Jigitz, who followed Summit on stage, shared on Instagram that his set was cut short. The blustery conditions also led to changes in the lineup, with Anyma canceling a performance and reports of canopies being blown away in the campgrounds.

Freshour returned later that night to find the area sealed off, resembling a crime scene. The incident served as a stark reminder of the dangers that can accompany large outdoor events, particularly when weather conditions become tumultuous. As the festival continued, attendees remained vigilant and cautious in light of the unexpected turn of events at Coachella.
