In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly at CBS Fest, Wahlberg revealed that Selleck has been supportive of his new project. He hinted at the possibility of Selleck reprising his role as Frank on the show, but emphasized that it would depend on the timing, situation, and script.

Wahlberg expressed his excitement at having other members of the Blue Bloods cast make appearances on Boston Blue, including Len Cariou who played Grandpa Reagan. He mentioned that there are more surprises in store for fans before the season ends, with the introduction of other Reagan family members.

The speculation surrounding the end of Blue Bloods in 2023 caused concern among fans, but the show was ultimately renewed with a pay cut for the cast and crew.
