Comic’s Set Trashing Keegan-Michael Key’s Wife Is ‘Outlandish, Fabricated,’ Sources Say
Keegan-Michael Key has recently come under fire in a viral act where comedian Akilah Hughes bashed his wife, Elle, claiming that she has been a hindrance to Key’s career. However, sources close to the couple have debunked these claims, labeling them as “outlandish and fabricated” nonsense.
During her stand-up routine, Akilah alleged that a show pitched by her and Key was derailed due to Elle’s interference as an executive producer. She even went as far as comparing Elle to Brynn Hartman, who tragically killed her husband, Phil Hartman, in 1998. These accusations have been met with skepticism and disbelief by those who know the couple personally.
Despite Akilah’s claims, both Key and Jordan Peele have maintained a strong friendship, even though they may not see each other as often as they did during their “Key and Peele” days. The notion that Elle has caused a rift between the comedy duo seems unlikely, especially considering Key’s recent success in starring in the blockbuster ‘Super Mario Bros.’ movie sequel.
Ultimately, it appears that Akilah’s narrative is unfounded and unsubstantiated. The Keys have not given their approval for the show referred to as “Lock and Banana,” and it seems that the allegations made by Akilah may be more fiction than fact.
