‘Dark Side of the Ring’ Season 7 Release Date Premiere to Focus on TNA

Exciting News for Fans of “Dark Side of the Ring” Season 7

The highly acclaimed docuseries “Dark Side of the Ring” has announced the premiere date for its seventh season exclusively on Vice TV, as reported by Variety. The new season is set to debut on July 7 at 9 p.m. ET with two back-to-back episodes, followed by weekly episodes thereafter. The season will kick off with a three-part special focusing on Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling and its co-founder and performer Jeff Jarrett.

Vice TV president Pete Gaffney expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, stating, “‘Dark Side of the Ring’ is one of our strongest franchises that delves into the real emotional and physical toll of professional wrestling. Wrestling is a significant part of American pop culture, and this series explores the blurred lines between spectacle and reality, revealing the truths behind the stories fans thought they knew.”

Season 7 will also feature episodes highlighting wrestlers such as Paul Orndorff, Ray “The Big Boss Man” Traylor, and Missy Hyatt. Additionally, viewers can look forward to episodes centered around the infamous match between Necro Butcher and Samoa Joe, the inspiring story of one-legged wrestler Zach Gowen, and Rick Wilson’s brief stint as Ultimate Warrior knockoff The Renegade.

Co-creators and executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener shared their thoughts on the upcoming season, stating, “Each season, we aim to delve deeper into the world of professional wrestling, and season seven is our most ambitious yet. The three-part exploration of TNA Wrestling, particularly Jeff Jarrett’s journey of redemption and resilience, offers a unique perspective on the highs, struggles, and lasting impact of the company’s foundational years. These stories are not only compelling but also deeply human.”

“Dark Side of the Ring” is a Vice Studios production in collaboration with Bell Media’s Crave. Husney serves as co-creator, executive producer, and writer, while Eisener is co-creator, executive producer, and director. Guillermo Garcia and Lee Hoffman are executive producers for Vice Studios and Vice TV, respectively. The series is distributed globally by VICE Distribution.

With its success, “Dark Side of the Ring” has become one of Vice’s most popular TV shows, leading to the expansion of the “Dark Side” franchise to include spin-offs like “Dark Side of Football,” “Dark Side of the 90s,” “Dark Side of the 2000s,” “Dark Side of Reality TV,” and “Dark Side of the Cage.”
