Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald, David Harewood Set for ‘War’ Season 2
Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald, and David Harewood have been confirmed to star in the upcoming second season of the highly anticipated HBO/Sky legal drama series, “War.” The first season, which featured Dominic West and Sienna Miller as a wealthy divorcing couple, recently wrapped up production and is scheduled to premiere later this year. Season 2 of the show will delve into an intense defamation case and is currently gearing up for production.
Joining the stellar cast of Tomei, Macdonald, and Harewood are Claire Skinner, Omari Douglas, Kadiff Kirwan, Douglas Booth, Charles Edwards, Luca Pasqualino, Rebecca Front, Alexandra Maria Lara, Linus Roache, Violet Braeckman, Sasha Behar, Sid Phoenix, Cornelius Booth, and Megan Channell.
Created by George Kay, known for his work on “Hijack” and “Lupin,” “War” revolves around two rival law firms in London as they battle it out on high-profile legal cases. The series regulars include Phoebe Fox and James McArdle as partners at Taylor & Byrne, and Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens as their counterparts at Cathcarts.
New additions to the cast include Archie Renaux as the ambitious lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, along with Emma Laird, Nick Mohammed, Akiya Henry, Honor Swinton Byrne, Miles Jupp, Kartanya Maynard, Alexandra Mardell, and Steve Furst.
The writing team for the series includes Kelly Jones, Jess Brittain, Catherine Shepherd, Yemi Oyefuwa, and Krissie Ducker, with Ben Taylor, known for his work on “Sex Education,” taking on the directorial duties. Executive producers include Willow and Imogen O’Sullivan for New Pictures, Ben Taylor, Susan Breen, and Megan Spanjian for Sky, with Matt Carver serving as the series producer.
“War” is a co-production between New Pictures, an All3Media company, and Observatory Pictures in collaboration with Sky and HBO. Fans can expect another gripping season filled with legal drama, intense courtroom battles, and stellar performances from the talented ensemble cast.
