Brooklyn woman, 59, violently raped by neighbor who smashed down her door in vicious attack: sources
A violent and brutal attack occurred in Brooklyn on Friday night, where a 59-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a neighbor. The assailant smashed down the woman’s apartment door on 15th Avenue and 71st Street in Bensonhurst around 8:30 p.m. He entered her bedroom, demanded sex, and then proceeded to viciously pummel and choke her during the assault.
The terrified victim reported the incident to the police at 11:15 p.m., revealing that she had been sexually assaulted by someone she knew. She was quickly taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition following the attack.
Law enforcement sources have indicated that a person of interest, a 38-year-old neighbor residing in the same building, has been taken into custody for questioning. However, no arrests have been made at this time.
Police presence was heavy at the scene the following day, with NYPD crime scene investigators, detectives, and the Special Victims Squad collecting evidence from the home in multiple bags. The investigation into this heinous crime is ongoing.
