URGENT: Protect the Vote – National Day of Action This Saturday

Friends, this is not a drill. We are facing a “Critical” threat to our democracy that we cannot afford to ignore. The Supreme Court’s recent ruling in Louisiana v. Callais hasn’t just tweaked the rules: it has effectively gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.

By shifting the burden of proof to “intentional discrimination,” the Court has made it nearly impossible to challenge maps that dilute our collective voice.

The Stakes Are Massive

We aren’t just talking about a few districts here and there. This ruling puts 13 to 16 Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) seats and 191 state legislative seats across the South at immediate risk. If we don’t act now, the progress we’ve fought decades for could be erased overnight. We are not going back.

National Day of Action: This Saturday, May 16

It’s time to show up. We are heading to the heart of the movement: Selma and Montgomery, Alabama: to make our voices heard. Whether you’re a faith leader, a student, or a concerned neighbor, your presence matters.

The Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM: Faith leaders and community members meet at the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma.
  • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: National Mass Rally at the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery.

Take Action Now

If you can’t make it to Alabama, you can still stand with us. Spread the word and sign on to support the movement. All roads lead to the South this weekend.

Stay tuned to Brownstone Worldwide for real-time updates and more from Paulette’s Points. Our community’s strength is in our unity. Let’s protect the vote.
