Will Ferrell’s ‘SNL’ Monologue Crashed by Chad Smith
Chad Smith made a surprise appearance on the “Saturday Night Live” stage, impersonating this week’s host, Will Ferrell. The Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, who bears a striking resemblance to Ferrell, jokingly claimed to be hosting the show for the sixth time.
However, Ferrell quickly intervened, questioning Smith’s presence on stage and asserting his rightful place as the host. The comedic exchange between the two escalated as Ferrell humorously recounted a backstage incident where Smith allegedly pushed him down, prompting Lorne Michaels to administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
After Ferrell successfully banished Smith from the stage, he turned his attention to the audience, singling out musical guest Paul McCartney for a question. McCartney, playing along with the joke, humorously addressed Ferrell as Chad and urged him to return to his drumming duties.
Ferrell continued the bit by teasing McCartney about some of the lesser-known songs he didn’t write, including children’s songs and pop hits by other artists. McCartney, undeterred, playfully insisted that Chad retreat to his drum kit.
The playful banter between Ferrell, Smith, and McCartney provided a lighthearted and entertaining moment on the “Saturday Night Live” stage. The comedic chemistry between the three performers added an extra layer of humor to the show, delighting both the live audience and viewers at home.
