Rachel Maddow Delights in Trump’s Cold Reception at NBA Finals
The MS NOW host, Rachel Maddow, couldn’t contain her joy as she analyzed the chilly reception that Donald Trump received at Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
“Do you want to witness the less-than-warm welcome that the President of the United States received when he decided to act like a basketball enthusiast just to attend the NBA Finals in New York tonight?” she gleefully asked as she played a clip of Trump facing criticism during the game that ended with a 115-111 victory for the San Antonio Spurs against the New York Knicks.
“Want to see how much New Yorkers really appreciated Donald Trump?” Maddow continued. “Forcing them to arrive at the game early, subjecting everyone to extensive screening, and even causing New York City to cancel public viewing parties outside Madison Square Garden, all just so Trump could be there in person, despite his history of speaking negatively about the NBA and showing little interest in the sport for years.”
As footage of Trump being booed outside the arena played, Maddow humorously remarked, “When they’re waving at you with just one finger, it’s definitely not a friendly greeting.”
