Out in Hollywood Reveals 2026 Out Loud List, Un-Produced Queer Pilots
Out Loud 2026: Celebrating Queer Voices in Hollywood
Out in Hollywood recently revealed the much-anticipated 2026 Out Loud list, a compilation of the best un-produced queer-focused pilot scripts from the past year. This marks the sixth edition of the list, with Out in Hollywood partnering once again with Gersh for this prestigious recognition. The selected writers are set to be honored at a special reception in Los Angeles, hosted by Jeff & Maridette Greenberg and sponsored by Writ Large.
Logan Kriete, speaking on behalf of the Out in Hollywood board, emphasized the importance of amplifying the diverse voices exploring the queer spectrum. These pilots are not just a celebration of identity but also serve as a catalyst for change, fostering empathy and showcasing the transformative power of queer storytelling. The selected storytellers represent a wide range of queer experiences and highlight the impactful role that queer narratives play in shaping culture.
The selection process for the Out Loud list involves nominations from queer professionals in the entertainment industry, followed by a blind review conducted by Out Loud Hollywood’s founding board and a panel of queer producers and executives. Submissions are evaluated based on various criteria, with a focus on queer storytelling principles inspired by GLAAD’s Vito-Russo Test.
The 2026 list features a diverse array of genres, including sci-fi, crime, thriller, coming-of-age, comedy, and drama. Each script offers a unique perspective on queer themes and promises to captivate audiences with their compelling storytelling.
