Los Angeles humiliated in new ranking of World Cup experience
A recent analysis has ranked the various World Cup venues in America, and SoFi Stadium is not faring well in the rankings. The study conducted by ticket experts SeatPick evaluated all 11 US stadiums hosting matches during the World Cup 2026, taking into account factors such as hotel prices, crime rates, weather conditions, concession and beer costs, and even mosquito complaints to determine the overall fan experience at each venue.
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California came in last among all host sites, with a fan experience rating of just 5.82 out of 10. The venue was criticized for its expensive drink prices, with a pint of beer costing $14 and water priced at $7. Additionally, SoFi Stadium had the highest mosquito risk score of 10 out of 10, based on a study of the Top 50 Hot Spots from March 2024 to April 2025.
The stadium also ranked third highest in hotel costs, with an average nightly rate of $383 for fans. Gilad Zilberman, Co-Founder of SeatPick, emphasized that the analysis took into consideration various factors that contribute to the overall enjoyment or dissatisfaction of a World Cup trip, not just ticket prices.
On the flip side, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts topped the list for fan experience with a score of 8.08. Factors contributing to its high rating included affordable beer prices at $8.58, low mosquito activity, and other positive aspects. Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia followed closely behind in second and third place, respectively.
Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California rounded out the top five with an overall fan experience score of 7.48. Despite its low ranking, SoFi Stadium has hosted a total of five matches, with the US Men’s National Soccer Team playing there recently and facing a tough loss to Turkey.
