Fired ’60 Minutes’ correspondent Scott Pelley signs with CAA: report

Scott Pelley has reportedly joined powerhouse talent agency CAA following his departure from “60 Minutes” and CBS News. CAA will represent Pelley in various areas as he embarks on the next phase of his career after 37 years at CBS News.

The agency also represents another “60 Minutes” correspondent, Lesley Stahl. CAA confirmed the news when contacted by The Post.

This move comes at a time when another key figure in CBS News, former “60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens, is also exploring his next steps.

Owens is reportedly working on a memoir about his career at CBS News through CAA literary agent Sloan Harris, potentially leading to conflicting insider perspectives on the network’s recent turmoil.

Pelley’s exit from CBS News followed a period of significant upheaval at the network. He was fired after a public confrontation with the new “60 Minutes” executive producer, Nick Bilton, during a staff meeting.

Since leaving CBS News, Pelley has been vocal about management’s interference in the show’s editorial independence. He accused CBS News executives of trying to introduce falsehoods and bias into reporting.

Owens, in his memoir proposal, criticized Paramount’s handling of President Trump’s lawsuit over a “60 Minutes” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, calling it a poor legal strategy by the media company.

He also accused Paramount of creating an internal “spy ring” that shared scripts and story plans with senior executives.

The Post has reached out to Pelley, CAA, CBS News, and Paramount for comments on the developments.
