France Televisions Unveils ‘La Haine’ Adaptation, Election Coverage
France Télévisions recently announced its upcoming programming slate for the 2026-2027 season, with a focus on a diverse range of content spanning French fiction, live performance, international drama, and current affairs. Among the highlights is the television adaptation of Mathieu Kassovitz’s iconic 1995 film “La Haine,” titled “La Haine, sur scène – Jusqu’ici rien n’a changé,” which will be airing as part of the lineup.
Originally released in 1995, “La Haine” remains a powerful and relevant film that explores themes of police violence and racism, set against the backdrop of riots in the Paris suburbs. The stage adaptation of the film is set to bring this impactful story to a new audience on television.
France Télévisions president, Delphine Ernotte-Cunci, emphasized the broadcaster’s commitment to public service and its mission to provide a platform for diverse voices and shared national experiences. The broadcaster aims to offer a wide range of content, from fiction to live performances, music, and festivals, in order to support talent and engage audiences.
In addition to “La Haine,” France Télévisions unveiled a lineup of new series and dramas, including “Triple Peine,” a timely drama that follows an actress accusing a filmmaker of sexual harassment, and “Stunts,” a thriller about a police officer investigating a gang of stunt performers. The broadcaster also announced “L’Autre Fille,” a supernatural drama, and “Code Rouge,” a thrilling series from U.K. producer Bad Wolf.
The programming slate also includes a strong focus on political and current-affairs content, with plans to revive the cult political interview program “L’Heure de vérité” and increase investigative programming. The broadcaster aims to reach younger audiences through social media and digital-first content, with a commitment to reporting and fact-checking in an era of growing disinformation and political polarization.
Despite financial challenges and funding cuts, France Télévisions remains dedicated to its role as a public broadcaster, adapting to changing viewing habits and technological advancements while staying true to its core mission of serving the French people. The upcoming season promises a diverse and engaging lineup of content that reflects the broadcaster’s commitment to quality and innovation.
