Disney Reveals First Look at Live-Action ‘Tangled’ Starring Kathryn Hahn

Disney has given fans their first glimpse of its live-action Tangled, revealing Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel during the D23 2026 showcase. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 31, 2028, according to Deadline and ABC News.

The brief footage reportedly highlights Rapunzel’s signature long hair, purple costume and tower setting before introducing Hahn’s take on the manipulative woman who keeps her isolated. Hahn’s casting brings a sharp comedic and dramatic presence to a role that animated-film fans already know well. Reports also identify Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider.

For audiences, the appeal is familiar but still open-ended: Disney is revisiting a beloved 2010 animated adventure while translating its musical fantasy, humor and emotional story into live action. The D23 reveal offers atmosphere, but the studio has not yet released the full teaser publicly.
