Fulton County Warns of Unauthorized Polling-Place Texts; 1,069 Early Ballots May Be Rescanned

ATLANTA, GA — November 3, 2026. Fulton County election officials are warning voters about unauthorized text messages claiming that polling places have changed. The county says the messages were not sent by its election office. Voters should not use unsolicited text-message links to determine where to cast a ballot.

How to verify your polling place

Check your assigned Election Day precinct directly through the Georgia My Voter Page or call Fulton County Elections at 404-612-7020. Georgia polling locations generally close at 7 p.m. Eastern. Voters in line by closing time may still vote.

Separate equipment issue: 1,069 advance ballots identified for possible rescanning

In a separate November 3 notice, Fulton County said failures involving two scanners at two advance-voting locations affected 1,069 ballots out of more than 328,000 advance ballots. The county proposed rescanning the affected ballots, subject to consideration by the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections at its scheduled 6:30 p.m. meeting. If approved, the corrective process would occur in public view.

Important distinction: These ballots have not been reported missing. The county’s notice describes a potential rescan, not proof of lost or altered votes. The status of the board’s decision and completion of any rescan should be checked before reporting the matter resolved.

What voters should do

Use official state and county election resources, confirm your assigned precinct, and report suspected misleading election messages directly to election officials. Do not forward unverified polling-place instructions as fact.
