Adam Sandler Pays Tribute To ‘Happy Gilmore’ Alligator, Who Has Died Of Old Age

An iconic alligator known for his appearances in movies and TV shows, including the 1996 film “Happy Gilmore” starring Adam Sandler, has passed away at a gator farm in southern Colorado.
Named Morris, the alligator was estimated to be at least 80 years old based on his growth rate and tooth loss. He measured nearly 11 feet in length and weighed 640 pounds.
The owner of the Colorado Gator Farm, Jay Young, shared that Morris had been acting strangely in the days leading up to his passing. Despite being an unusual attachment to an alligator, Young expressed deep sadness over the loss of Morris, who had lived a happy life at the farm.
Morris began his Hollywood career in 1975 after being found as an illegal pet in Los Angeles. He retired in 2006 and spent his final years at the Colorado Gator Farm, making appearances in various films and TV shows, including “Interview with the Vampire” and “Blues Brothers 2000.”
However, Morris is best remembered for his role in “Happy Gilmore,” where he famously interacted with Adam Sandler’s character on the golf course. Sandler paid tribute to Morris on Instagram, reminiscing about their time working together.
The Colorado Gator Farm plans to preserve Morris’ body through taxidermy, ensuring that his legacy lives on to “scare children for years to come,” as per the farm’s Facebook post.
