LAS VEGAS — A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces made history by becoming the first player in WNBA history to achieve a 30-20 double-double. Wilson’s performance left coach Becky Hammon in awe, who described it as “just A’ja being A’ja.” Despite her impressive accomplishment, Wilson remained humble and credited her team for their involvement in the game.

Wilson’s stellar performance led the Aces to a 94-86 victory over the Connecticut Sun, with Wilson scoring 32 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. This marked her 14th double-double of the season and her 30th career 30-point game. Wilson expressed gratitude for being able to play the game she loves and contribute to her team’s success.

Teammate Jackie Young praised Wilson’s work ethic and ability to perform consistently at a high level, despite facing double and triple teams from opponents. Wilson, who recently became the fastest and second-youngest player to reach 5,000 career points, acknowledged the significance of her achievement and expressed pride in being the first player to achieve a 30-20 double-double in WNBA history.

Wilson’s name now resides in the record books alongside some of the league’s greatest players, a testament to her skill and dedication to the game. As she continues to make her mark in the WNBA, Wilson remains focused on helping her team succeed and setting new milestones for herself and future players in the league.
