American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards 2026 Winners List
The 76th ACE Eddie Awards recently took place, with the live action feature awards going to “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another.” Michael Shawver, the editor of “Sinners,” expressed gratitude for director Ryan Coogler’s risk-taking in delivering something new and exciting to audiences.
In the animated feature film category, “KPop Demon Hunters” emerged victorious. The awards ceremony, held at UCLA’s Royce Hall, provided valuable insights into the Oscars race for best editing. Historically, winners in the best film drama editing and best film comedy/musical editing categories have often gone on to win the best editing Oscar.
“The Perfect Neighbor” was recognized as the best edited documentary, with a nomination for an Oscar in the same category. Additionally, Damian Rodriguez won the best edited documentary series for “Pee-wee as Himself” – Part One, dedicating his win to his team and Paul Reuben.
On the television side, “The Studio” and “The Pitt” were the winners in the best edited comedy and best edited drama categories, respectively. The ACE Eddies honor outstanding editing in various mediums such as film, television, documentaries, shorts, and digital content.
Award recipients included Ang Lee, who received the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, and Erin Casper, who won best edited short for “All The Empty Rooms,” dedicated to the victims and families affected by US school shootings.
