ANTPOOL, Block Inc, F2Pool, Foundry, Spiderpool, MARA Foundation & DMND Join Stratum V2 Working Group

The Stratum V2 Working Group is thrilled to announce the addition of ANTPOOL, Block Inc, F2Pool, Foundry, Spiderpool, MARA Foundation, and DMND to their esteemed list of members. These industry leaders have joined forces with Braiins and Spiral, who founded the working group in 2022, to propel the adoption of the Stratum v2 protocol.

Established with the goal of developing and maintaining the Stratum v2 protocol as an open and vendor-neutral specification for the Bitcoin mining ecosystem, the working group aims to revolutionize the mining industry. This upgraded protocol offers significant efficiency gains, enhanced privacy, heightened security, and increased functionality, ultimately contributing to improved mining decentralization.

The recent influx of new members, all key players in the mining ecosystem, marks a significant step forward for the working group. Their involvement underscores a growing consensus within the industry that Stratum v2 is the way forward. This united front will ensure the seamless integration and compatibility of the protocol across real-world mining operations on a large scale.

Andy Zhou, CEO of ANTPOOL, expressed his support for the broader adoption of Stratum V2, emphasizing the importance of aligning around an open, interoperable standard to drive efficiency, security, and decentralization within the industry. Similarly, Kenway Wang, CTO of Spiderpool, highlighted the protocol’s support for decentralization through enabling miner-constructed templates and improving efficiency, particularly for miners in bandwidth-constrained environments.

Stratum v2 offers mechanisms for efficiently managing large fleets of miners, end-to-end encryption, and the ability for individual miners to create their own block templates with the support of pools, among other features. This innovative protocol is set to revolutionize the mining landscape and pave the way for a more secure and decentralized future.

The Stratum V2 Working Group serves as an open collaboration initiative dedicated to advancing the development, adoption, and interoperability of the Stratum v2 mining protocol. By maintaining a public specification and providing a coordination layer between developers and industry stakeholders, the working group is driving progress and innovation within the mining ecosystem.
