Beerus’ Enhanced Anime Series Set for Fall Launch
Remastered Version of “Dragon Ball Super” Set to Premiere as “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” in Fall 2026
The highly anticipated remastered edition of the beloved anime series “Dragon Ball Super” is scheduled to debut in the fall of 2026 under the new title “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus.” This exciting news was announced at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in Japan, much to the delight of fans worldwide.
The upgraded version will feature a plethora of visual enhancements, including new animation cuts, revised sequences, re-rendered footage, freshly recorded voice acting, and an updated musical score and sound design. The project, which has been in development for several years, aims to offer a more faithful adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s original vision through cutting-edge visual techniques.
The announcement was made during a live stage presentation at Makuhari Messe, with iconic voice actors Masako Nozawa (Son Goku) and Koichi Yamadera (God of Destruction Beerus) joining executive producer Akio Iyoku on stage.
Attendees were treated to a launch trailer and key visual that showcased the enhanced production values of the series. The storyline revolves around the God of Destruction Beerus awakening from a long slumber and targeting Earth after learning about a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, leading to a thrilling confrontation with Goku and his allies.
This remastered series serves as a complete reconstruction of the original “Dragon Ball Super” television anime, which featured Toriyama’s original story concepts and character designs. Fans can expect heightened visual immersion, especially during intense battle sequences.
In addition to the remastered series, a new anime titled “Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol” was also announced at the event, continuing the storyline following the “Universe Survival Arc” from the previous broadcast run.
With its origins in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1984, the Dragon Ball franchise has become a global entertainment phenomenon encompassing animation, films, gaming, and merchandise. The franchise celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024 with the launch of “Dragon Ball Daima,” further solidifying its enduring popularity.
