Bikini-clad Kentucky teen, 19, vanishes from boat party as massive search ramps up
A 19-year-old Kentucky girl named Marly Kinney mysteriously disappeared while partying on a boat at Grayson Lake in Carter County. She was with at least 10 friends on a pontoon boat when she went overboard to use the bathroom, but her friends did not realize she was missing at first. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and her friends were unsure of the exact location on the lake where she went overboard.
Authorities have launched a massive search operation, combing the lake and surrounding areas in eastern Kentucky. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has deployed sonar, K-9 teams, and heat-seeking drones in the search for the missing teen. Despite the ongoing search efforts, there are few details available about the case.
Kinney’s family is pleading for anyone with information to come forward. Sinclaire Marie, Kinney’s cousin, shared a missing-person poster on Instagram, urging residents in the Grayson, Ashland, and Morehead areas to share any relevant information. The flyer includes a photo of Kinney and contact details for the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, although the agency is not directly involved in the investigation.
The Kentucky State Police and Fish and Wildlife officials are leading the search efforts and are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to them. The Carter County Sheriff’s Office clarified on Facebook that they are not handling the case and directed people to contact the appropriate agencies.
Kinney is described as 5-foot-5, around 125 pounds, with black hair. She was last seen wearing a pink, orange, and white bikini. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and Kentucky State Police have not provided further details on the case. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working tirelessly to locate the missing teenager.
