Boat Captain Carrying Missing Marly Kinney Charged with BUI
The case of missing teenager Marly Kinney has taken a new turn as 23-year-old Cameron Conley has been arrested and charged with Boating Under the Influence (BUI) after the young girl went missing during a boating trip on a Kentucky lake. The search for Marly Kinney is ongoing as authorities work tirelessly to locate her.
According to officials from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Marly was last seen on June 24 at Grayson Lake. The alarm was raised when Conley, the boat captain, informed marina staff that he could not find a woman who had been on his boat.
Upon arrival, state troopers noted signs of impairment in Conley, including the smell of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. Conley was questioned about the possibility of drinking while operating the boat, leading to his admission of consuming alcohol. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.137%, well above the legal limit of 0.08% for boating. Conley was subsequently taken into custody and charged with operating a watercraft under the influence before being released.
While Conley faces charges for BUI, Marly Kinney remains missing. Search and rescue teams are focusing their efforts on the water with support from state police aviation units, drones, boats, K-9 teams, and multiple local agencies in a bid to locate the teenager.
