Boulder attack suspect charged with federal hate crime, said he ‘wanted to kill all Zionist people’: Court documents

A man suspected of carrying out an “act of terrorism” during a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, Colorado, has been charged with a federal hate crime, according to court documents. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Soliman, allegedly researched how to make Molotov Cocktails on YouTube, purchased the ingredients, and constructed them for the attack.
Soliman reportedly told investigators that he wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead. He expressed his hatred towards the Zionist group and stated that he needed to stop them from taking over what he referred to as ‘our land,’ which he explained to be Palestine.
The attack took place at the Run for Their Lives walk, an event aimed at raising awareness about hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. Soliman allegedly targeted this group specifically after learning about them in an online search. During the attack, he used a makeshift flamethrower and threw an incendiary device into a crowd of pro-Israel demonstrators, shouting “Free Palestine.”
Eight victims, aged 52 to 88, were hospitalized with burns as a result of the attack. Fortunately, six of the victims have been released from the hospital, while two remain in critical condition but are expected to survive.
At the scene, law enforcement recovered at least fourteen unlit Molotov cocktails, a backpack weed sprayer containing a flammable substance, and gasoline with xylene. Soliman was taken into custody and is being held on a $10,000,000 bond, facing charges including the use of an incendiary device and potentially first-degree murder.
President Donald Trump responded to the attack, emphasizing the need for secure borders and deportation of illegal, anti-American radicals. Soliman, who is in the United States illegally, entered the country on a B2 visa in 2022 and filed for asylum the same year. His visa expired in 2023, and he has been in the country illegally since then.
Soliman, who worked as an Uber driver, has had his account banned from the platform. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
