A Breeze Airways Flight to Los Angeles Diverted After Unruly Passenger Incident

A Breeze Airways flight bound for Los Angeles had to make an unexpected stop in Colorado due to a disruptive passenger who was waving a skateboard and causing a disturbance on board. The incident occurred on Breeze Airways Flight 704, which departed from Norfolk, Virginia, on Wednesday morning.

The unruly passenger, described as intoxicated, began yelling racist slurs at airline staff while brandishing a skateboard. Despite efforts by the flight attendants to restrain him, the individual managed to break free twice, escalating the situation onboard.

Upon landing in Grand Junction, Colorado, local authorities, including the Grand Junction Police Department, were called to address the situation. The police reported that a physical altercation ensued, resulting in minor injuries to a passenger and a flight attendant.

Despite the chaotic scene onboard, there were no reports of assault or significant injuries to passengers or the flight crew. The disruptive passenger was apprehended by Grand Junction police upon landing and taken into custody for further investigation.

This incident adds to the growing number of disruptive behaviors on flights, with over 1,000 reported incidents involving unruly passengers in 2025, as highlighted by the Federal Aviation Administration.
