Brutal video shows masked thugs stomping on off-duty NYPD cop’s face in brazen robbery

Two masked thugs pinned an off-duty NYPD cop to the ground at knifepoint in the Bronx in a brutal assault captured on video. The incident occurred on St. Peter’s Ave. in Westchester Square in the early hours of Saturday.

Surveillance footage shows the assailants approaching the officer on the sidewalk, throwing him to the ground next to a pile of trash. One of the attackers brandished a knife, while the other went through the officer’s pockets.

After stealing the officer’s Glock 19 9mm service weapon and other belongings, the suspects repeatedly punched and kicked the cop in the face before fleeing the scene. The off-duty officer suffered a broken cheekbone and fractured eye socket in the attack.

The NYPD has identified 23-year-old Taveon Hargrove as a person of interest in the assault. Hargrove’s father was arrested for allegedly using the cop’s stolen credit card at several Bronx bodegas. The second suspect remains at large.

“Two individuals viciously attacked an off-duty NYPD officer, forcing him to the ground, striking him in the face, holding a knife to his throat, and stealing his belongings, including his firearm,” the department stated on Sunday.
