Cigarette burns and ‘deformities’ found on CA woman, ex-boyfriend claims she slipped in the shower

A tragic incident in Bakersfield has left a community reeling after a young woman, Crystal Marie Falcon, passed away from injuries sustained in her own home. The details surrounding her death are harrowing, with police uncovering evidence of possible domestic violence.

It all began on February 7 when Falcon was rushed to Adventist Health Bakersfield with severe injuries. Her boyfriend, Brandon Grimaldi, claimed she had slipped in the shower, but the extent of her injuries told a different story. She had bruises, scrapes consistent with being tied up, possible cigarette burns, broken bones, and deformities that indicated a much more sinister cause.

Investigators found blood splatter not only in the bathroom where she was allegedly injured but also in the bedroom and hallway of the couple’s home. The evidence pointed towards a violent altercation that ended tragically with Falcon’s untimely death on February 13.

Grimaldi, 29, was arrested in connection with Falcon’s death and now faces charges related to domestic violence with great bodily harm. Additionally, he is also facing child endangerment charges as blood splatter was discovered on the crib of one of Falcon’s young children, who has a disability.

The Bakersfield Police Department has expressed their commitment to combating domestic violence and seeking justice for victims like Falcon. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Falcon’s two young children, including one with special needs, during this difficult time. The community has rallied together to provide a peaceful goodbye for Crystal and support her family in their time of need.

As the case progresses, Grimaldi is set to appear in court next month to face the charges against him. The tragic loss of Crystal Marie Falcon serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence and the importance of standing up against such heinous acts.
