Costco announces all California stores to shut on Fourth of July — here’s where to go instead

Costco shoppers in California will need to adjust their Fourth of July plans as the warehouse giant has announced the closure of all its stores for the holiday. This means that last-minute shoppers will have to visit alternative stores like Walmart, Target, and Trader Joe’s.

All 142 Costco locations in California, which account for about 23% of the chain’s U.S. footprint, will be closed on Saturday, July 4, according to Men’s Journal.

If you still need burgers, buns, ice, or other barbecue essentials, there are plenty of other places to shop.

Walmart and Target will be open with regular holiday hours. Whole Foods, Ralphs, and other Kroger-owned grocery stores will also remain open.

Trader Joe’s will be open but will close at 5 p.m. Aldi stores are expected to operate with reduced hours, so it’s advisable to check with your local store before heading out.
