Costco to open new California stores in major expansion

Costco Expanding in California with New Stores

Costco is set to open two new stores in California, continuing its expansion in the state known for its bulk items and $1.50 hot dog.

The first new store will be located in North Visalia in the San Joaquin Valley, opening on May 21. Additionally, an existing store in Fresno will be replaced by a brand new Costco location.

Excitingly, Costco will also open its first standalone gas station in Mission Viejo later this year, offering a new convenience to customers in the area.

Rumors are circulating that Costco is eyeing another potential store location in Menifee, Riverside County, showing the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in California.

Following strong Q2 earnings reported in March, Costco is planning a significant expansion across the United States. CEO Ron Vachris announced a goal of opening 30 or more warehouses annually over the next five to 10 years, with about half of them located in the U.S.

With 135 warehouse locations, California currently boasts the highest number of Costco stores in any state.

In addition to its California expansion, Costco will be opening new locations in Texas, Mexico, Utah, Florida, Arizona, New York, Wisconsin, and Minnesota in the coming months.

Looking beyond the U.S., Costco’s CEO has confirmed plans to open warehouses in Mexico, Canada, Asia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, further solidifying the brand’s global presence.

Despite all the growth and changes, one thing remains constant for Costco customers – the iconic $1.50 hot dog combo. CEO Vachris has assured that the price will not change as long as he’s in charge, and customers can now opt for water instead of soda with their hot dog purchase.

Costco’s expansion plans and commitment to maintaining its popular offerings demonstrate the brand’s dedication to providing value and convenience to its loyal customers.
