Cracker Barrel relents, says its old logo will return
Cracker Barrel Reverts to Old Logo After Backlash
By DEE-ANN DURBIN
Cracker Barrel announced late Tuesday that it will be reverting to its old logo following criticism, including from President Donald Trump, over its plan to modernize.
In a statement on its website, the company confirmed that it will be keeping its original logo, featuring an older man in overalls next to a barrel with the words “Old Country Store.”
“We appreciate our customers for voicing their opinions and love for Cracker Barrel,” the company stated. “Our new logo will be discontinued, and the ‘Old Timer’ will remain.”
The controversy surrounding the logo change began last week when Cracker Barrel announced a new, simplified design with only the company name. The decision was part of a larger effort to update its restaurants and attract a younger clientele.
However, the change faced backlash from many individuals. Earlier on Tuesday, Trump took to Truth Social to suggest that Cracker Barrel should acknowledge the mistake based on customer feedback and improve company management, hinting that it could lead to significant positive publicity for the brand.
