Crate & Barrel is rolling back into Cherry Creek
Crate & Barrel Set to Open New Location in Cherry Creek Shopping Center
Exciting news for furniture and home goods enthusiasts in Cherry Creek as Crate & Barrel announces its return to the area. The popular retailer will be opening a new location in the existing 23,000-square-foot Macy’s Furniture Gallery at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center on 3122 E. First Ave.
Despite Illinois-based Crate & Barrel not responding to requests for comment on their plans, it has been revealed that a $466,000 build-out is in the works. The move comes after the retailer closed its doors at 101 Clayton Lane last year to accommodate the redevelopment of the property into apartments with ground-floor retail.
Meanwhile, Macy’s will be relocating the furniture store to its general retail store next door in the mall by April. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing the shopping experience for customers, allowing them to explore the home assortment alongside apparel, beauty, and other categories in a single visit.
The mall owner, Simon Property Group, has not provided any comments on the developments. Macy’s Furniture Gallery had previously moved to its current location in 2018, along with The Container Store, to make way for future redevelopment plans. Both businesses now occupy about half of the 52,000-square-foot building.
While Macy’s has been reducing its footprint in Denver in recent years, with closures in Littleton, Central Park, and Centennial, the company remains focused on optimizing its operations. With 66 locations shuttered nationwide in 2025 and plans to close 14 more stores this year, Macy’s is adapting to the changing retail landscape.
