CrimeCon Clue Award Winners List 2025: ‘Gabby Petito,’ ‘PD True’

The 4th annual Clue Awards took place on Saturday during the CrimeCon event in Denver, with winners including MGM+’s “Godfather of Harlem,” Paramount+’s “PD True,” and Netflix’s “American Murder: Gabby Petito.” Hosted by Ice-T, the event honored individuals and productions in the true crime genre.

One of the highlights of the awards ceremony was the recognition of the families of Liberty German and Abigail Williams, victims of the Delphi murders, as well as Lead Investigator Lt. Jerry Holeman of the Indiana State Police, who received the prestigious 2025 Crimefighter of the Year award presented by John Walsh.

Sgt. Julissa Trapp of the Anaheim, Calif., Police Department was named 2025 “America’s Greatest Detective” for her outstanding work on the case of serial killer Steven Dean Gordon and accomplice Franc Cano. Additionally, true crime podcast “Crime Weekly,” hosted by Derrick Levasseur and Stephanie Harlowe, was voted by fans for the Clue Awards’ “Creator of the Year” honor.

For the first time, scripted series were included in the competition, with “Godfather of Harlem” winning the award for outstanding scripted series.

– Winner: “Story of a Murder: The Wives, the Mistress, and Dr. Crippen” (Penguin Random House/Dutton) | Written by Hallie Rubenhold

The Clue Awards aim to recognize excellence and responsible storytelling in true crime content across TV, film, podcasts, and publishing. CrimeCon, the host event for the awards, is a three-day gathering held annually at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center.
